About the winery

Grant Burge is a fifth-era Barossa winemaker and vigneron. All through his profession, Grant has been a standout amongst the most regarded and inventive strengths in the Australian wine industry.

The historical background of the Burge family and their long relationship with winemaking in the locale can be followed back to March 1855, when noted tailor John Burge moved to the Barossa from Hillcot, close Pewsey in Wiltshire, England with his wife Eliza and their two children. John started working as a winemaker at Hillside Vineyards and his affection for viticulture was passed onto his child Meshach, who proceeded with the convention making his first wine in 1865, whilst turning into a noticeable group pioneer. Meshach wedded Emma in 1883 and they had eight kids. To begin with conceived Percival made the Wilsford Winery close to Lyndoch in 1928. Percival had two children, Noel and Colin, and Colin and his wife Nancy had one child, Grant.Following in the steps of his dad and ancestors before him, Grant now conveys the winemaking custom into the 21st century.
