About the wine: Pinot Noir is the red wine grape of Burgundy, now embraced (and hotly contemplated) in wine locales everywhere throughout the world. The variety’s slippery appeal has conveyed it to all way of vineyards, from western Germany and northern Italy to Chile, South Africa, Australia and perhaps most remarkably, California, Oregon and New Zealand. It is the patriarch of the Pinot group of grape mixed bags – alleged on the grounds that their packs are comparative fit as a fiddle to a pine cone (pinot in French).
